Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Academic staff currently employed at international higher education institutions.
  • Must have a designated TU Wien host (faculty member or department) at the time of application.
  • Must present a Letter of Support from the host unit with the application.
  • Commitment to spend at least 3 months per visit at TU Wien.
  • Ability to fulfill both research and teaching responsibilities during the stay.

Job Description & Academic Activities

Selected fellows will collaborate closely with their hosting unit at TU Wien and engage in the following activities:

  • Research Collaboration: Contribute to existing research projects or initiate new collaborative projects with the host unit.
  • Instruction: Teach specialized coursework in collaboration with the host institute.
  • Grant & Proposal Writing: Prepare research proposals and joint grant applications.
  • Scholarly Engagement: Participate in academic networking and other scholarly activities approved by the Dean of the hosting faculty.

  1. Identify & Contact Host: Applicants must independently secure a TU Wien host prior to submitting their application (central matchmaking is not available).
  2. Prepare Documentation: Compile all required documents into one single PDF file:
    • Project Outline (Max 1 page): Detailing research/teaching focus, timeframe, and benefits to ongoing academic work.
    • Updated CV
    • List of Recent Publications
    • Letter of Support: Written by the TU Wien hosting unit outlining strategic research alignment.
  3. File Naming Format: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_GFP_Semester (e.g., Smith_Susanne_GFF_WinterSemester2025)
  4. Submission: Upload the single PDF via the TU Wien Cloud Portal.
