Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field (to be completed by Jan 2026)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Previous experience (highly appreciated) in:
- Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) techniques
- Scanning probe microscopy methods
- Low-temperature setups
- Scientific software packages (MATLAB, Python, Origin, Igor, etc.)
Job Description
- Conduct experimental research on fabrication of 2D metal-organic frameworks (with lanthanide coordination metals) on superconductors (e.g., NbSe₂)
- Characterize quantum interactions between rare earth atoms and superconducting surfaces
- Develop a doctoral thesis aligned with the priority research line toward building hybrid quantum processors
- Collaborate within the Severo Ochoa excellence centre in a multidisciplinary research environment
Contract Type: 4-year FPI (Training of Research Personnel) contract
