The ICGEB Omics of Algae group works broadly in algal biotechnology, integrated omics, computational biology, carbon capture, biomanufacturing and synthetic biology. (ICGEB)
Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree, OR
- 3 years of research, teaching and industrial experience after ME/M.Tech, along with at least one research paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Mandatory: Experience in handling algal strains.
- Knowledge/experience in seaweeds, omics biology, photobioreactors, etc. is required.
Job Description
The selected Research Associate will work in the Omics of Algae Group at ICGEB, New Delhi, contributing to the DBT-funded project on the sustainable enhancement of Kappaphycus.
The research is expected to involve work related to:
- Handling and cultivation of algal/seaweed strains.
- Omics-driven investigation of Kappaphycus.
- Cultivar improvement for climate resilience.
- Application of seaweed biotechnology for economic/value-added products.
- Work involving omics biology and photobioreactor-related approaches.
- Supporting research activities associated with sustainable algal biotechnology.
The position is initially offered for one year, with possible extension depending on performance.
