Designation/Position- Research Associate(RA) Position in ICGEB
Application is invited for one Research Associate I (RA-I) Position at the Plant-Microbe Interaction Group, ICGEB, New Delhi, in a DBT-funded project. The position is available initially for one year or until the tenure of the sanctioned project, with the possibility of extensions based on fund availability, performance, and achievement of milestones. The salary will be as per DST norms, based on qualification.

Eligibility / Qualification
Educational qualifications: Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field are eligible to apply. Candidates with M. Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with three years of research experience can also apply as mentioned in DST office memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidate who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also encouraged to apply, and if selected, they would be given a fellowship equivalent to SRF until the Ph.D. degree is awarded, as per DBT/DST norms.
Desirable Experience: Molecular cloning, microbiology techniques, protein purification, cloning, genome editing, and Plant tissue culture. The candidate should independently carry out the designated work, be capable of troubleshooting, and be highly dedicated and sincere.
Job Description
The above position is completely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above positions is as per ICGEB norms. The initial appointment will be for 12 months or till the tenability of the project, whichever is earlier, and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. ICGEB reserves the right to select the candidate for the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month’s notice by either party. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of ICGEB.
