Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in mouse handling and procedures, in vivo/ex vivo cardiac functional assays, and molecular biology methods.
- Prior research experience in mouse/rodent models of cardiovascular disease is preferred.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with statistical and bioinformatics tools (e.g., R, Python) is an advantage.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform mouse handling, survival procedures, and tissue collection.
- Conduct mouse echocardiography and in vivo cardiac functional assessments.
- Apply ex vivo cardiac physiology techniques, including IonOptix systems for contractility and calcium handling studies.
- Contribute to AAV production and viral vector-based gene delivery.
- Perform molecular and cell biology assays, including PCR, cloning, Western blotting, and mammalian cell culture.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, analyze data, and contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team spanning physiology, molecular biology, and computational biology.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and engineered cardiac microtissues.
- Familiarity with iPSC differentiation, culture, functional assays, and genome editing.
