Eligibility/Qualification
Essential:
- Master’s degree in bioinformatics, data science, biomedicine, bioengineering, biotechnology, or related fields
- Programming experience in Python and/or R
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- Proactive, rigorous, solution-oriented, and a critical thinker
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research
Bonus (not required):
- Experience in single-cell and spatial omics data analysis
- Experience with highly multiplexed flow cytometry
- Background in immunology
Job Description
The PhD project will investigate the role of neutrophils using whole blood or sorted cells, applying single-cell transcriptomics and spatial transcriptomics/proteomics. The candidate will collaborate with core facilities, leveraging advanced technologies to assess the involvement of neutrophils in both blood and pancreatic tissues, and evaluate their potential as therapeutic targets in type 1 diabetes.
