Postdoctoral Researcher in Mass Spectrometry: INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our ERC team in Bordeaux. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing methods for measuring CO2 fluxes and isotopic analysis.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD: A PhD in chemical/instrumental analysis of stable isotopes or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Experience with Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS), gas monitoring, and analytical instrument maintenance is highly desired.
  • Skills: Proficiency in statistical analysis; familiarity with ISODAT software; ability to communicate effectively in English; basic knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • Personal Attributes: Proven ability to work independently and as part of an international research team.

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for:

  • Developing a calibration framework for COS isotopes.
  • Conducting microcosm experiments to measure COS isotope fractionation in plant and soil materials.
  • Collaborating with a team comprising engineers, postdoctoral researchers, and postgraduates.
  • Contributing to research on the variability in plant-fungal interactions and its impact on atmospheric chemistry.
  • Engaging in environmentally focused biogeochemistry research and enhancing understanding of carbon cycling.
