Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in protein science, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field (must be completed before starting the position).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Good IT and interpersonal skills.
  • Meet the requirements set by the University of Oulu Graduate School (UniOGS) for doctoral study rights.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in structural, molecular, and microbiology research.
  • Experience working with membrane proteins.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Description

As a Doctoral Researcher, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting doctoral research by designing and performing experiments, collecting data, analyzing results, and writing your dissertation.
  • Contributing to project-related tasks such as applying for research funding and engaging in societal outreach.
  • Participating in shared activities within the research group and the Faculty.
  • Contributing to teaching (up to 5% of working time).
