Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree followed by a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong programming skills in Fortran and Python.
  • Experience in modeling atmospheric aerosols using supercomputers.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will:

  • Refine model representations of LAC emissions, chemistry, and optical properties.
  • Assess the role of LAC on extreme weather events and air pollution levels.
  • Explore climate change mitigation scenarios through advanced modeling techniques.
  • Work as part of the ACTUATE project, utilizing the Modular Earth Submodel System (MESSy) to simulate atmospheric impacts.
