Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in bioengineering, chemical biology, neuroscience, or a related field.
- Advanced experience in molecular tool engineering.
- Prior training/experience in one or more of the following:
- Protein engineering (rational design, directed evolution, computational design)
- Molecular biology (cloning, AAV handling)
- Cell culture testing (HEK cells, primary neuron culture)
- Biochemical assays and screening
- Animal testing in the brain, spinal cord, and/or peripheral nervous system
- Imaging (epifluorescence and confocal)
- Data analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills and research integrity.
Job Description
As a joint Postdoctoral Scientist, you will collaborate on various projects that involve high-throughput screening assays and protein large language models to design new activity-dependent labeling enzymes. You will validate and apply these tools in mice while participating in a range of methodologies, including calcium imaging, optogenetics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and proteomics. The position offers mentorship from faculty advisors and opportunities for professional development within both labs.
