Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s (MSc) degree in:
- Biocatalysis
- Enzymology
- Biotechnology
- Biochemical Engineering
- A closely related discipline
- Relevant experience during Master’s thesis and/or industrial internship in:
- Lab-scale biocatalytic processes
- Enzyme production, purification, and characterization
- (Bio)chemical analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, GC-MS)
- Additional skills considered a plus:
- Programming for data analysis (e.g., R, Python)
- Multivariate data analysis, chemometrics, and/or machine learning
- Strong communication skills and pro-active problem-solving mindset
Job Description
The PhD candidate will:
- Design a scalable bioprocess leveraging UPO enzymes for synthetic chemical production.
- Implement real-time monitoring to enhance understanding of bioconversions.
- Benefit from workshops and external research stays to develop both technical and transferable skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
