Postdoctoral Researcher in Soft Matter Physics: The CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to study the formation of wrinkled skin during the drying of polymer solutions. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education Level: PhD or equivalent in experimental physics
  • Research Experience: None required; however, prior experience in soft matter and hydrodynamics is advantageous.
  • Languages: Basic knowledge of French is required
  • Publications: Proven research skills demonstrated by at least one publication as first/co-first or second author related to the project’s theme and activities.
  • Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in modeling.

Job Description

The recruited candidate will be responsible for:

  • Determining conditions for wrinkle formation during drying of polymer solutions and proposing a mechanism for this formation.
  • Participating in implementing an experimental device to observe the formation of wrinkles.
  • Conducting experiments, analyzing results, and developing a model to report on the findings.
  • Publishing one or more articles on the analysis of data collected during the project.
  • Presenting findings in reports and at conferences or symposia.

The position contributes to a project focused on the drying of liquid films at the SVI laboratory, a joint research unit between CNRS and Saint-Gobain.
