Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or Chemistry (or close to completion)
- Strong expertise in organic synthesis, particularly natural product synthesis and/or modern synthetic methods
- Proven research track record evidenced by high-quality publications
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate in English
- Collaborative skills in a laboratory environment
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or CRO setting, and a background in medicinal chemistry or modelling would be advantageous
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a central role in the design and synthesis of small-molecule inhibitors within ongoing drug discovery programs. Responsibilities include:
- Generating and testing hypotheses using structural, biochemical, and microbiological data
- Developing and adapting synthetic methodologies
- Managing independent research projects
- Collaborating with national and international partners
- Preparing publications and scientific reports
- Actively participating in seminars, journal clubs, and interdisciplinary meetings
- Opportunities to contribute to teaching and mentoring
