Job Description
The position offers the opportunity to work closely with Professor Adam P. Sharples and other collaborators, engaging in:
- Human and in vitro experimental work related to skeletal muscle.
- Tissue and cell analysis.
- Multi-omics data processing and analysis.
- Co-supervision of Master and PhD students, along with limited teaching (~10-15%).
The research focuses on the epigenetic regulation of mitochondrial function in aging skeletal muscle and the impact of training modalities on mitochondrial epigenetic signatures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments utilizing primary human muscle cell cultures and various assays.
- Integrate multi-omics datasets including metabolomics, RNA-seq, and RRBS.
- Collaborate and engage with international partner groups.
- Deliver teaching in cell biology/molecular exercise physiology.
