Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed a second-cycle (Master’s level) degree.
- At least 240 higher education credits (ECTS), with a minimum of 60 credits at the second-cycle level.
- Not resided in Sweden for more than 12 months in the last 3 years before application.
- Strong interest in biological or medical sciences.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Desired Skills:
- Practical experience with fluorescence microscopy, atomic force microscopy, or optical tweezers.
- Prior wet-lab experience in biological sciences, especially virology or molecular biology.
Description:
The PhD project involves using analytical and biophysical tools to characterize the biophysical properties of the endothelial glycocalyx during viral infections. The candidate will work with patient samples, studying the presence of glycocalyx-degrading enzymes and their products while collaborating with academic and industrial partners within the GLYCOCALYX network.
