Research Area
This research involves modeling and designing power electronics to enhance the reuse and recycling of components, facilitating a circular life cycle. The work will contribute to projects like “CirclePE: Circular Power Electronics for Green Transition” and “GRACE: Glass for Reliable and Circular Power Electronics.”

Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering (or about to complete)
- Strong background in power electronics
- Experience with power electronic design and modeling tools
- Knowledge of digital control, testing, and characterization of power electronic components
- Familiarity with materials, life cycle assessment, or eco-design is a plus
- Excellent English language skills
Description
The PhD position will involve developing power converter integration concepts that support disassembly. Candidates will utilize multi-physics simulation tools to analyze electrical, thermal, and mechanical behaviors to optimize design for circularity. A proof-of-concept validation through hardware prototype development and testing will also form part of the role.
