Eligibility/Qualification
- Possession of a university degree (MSc) or equivalent qualification allowing for doctoral studies.
- Must be in the first 4 years of full-time research career post-MSc.
- Not currently hold a PhD.
- Not have held contracts with CERN for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
- Proficiency in English.
- Knowledge in areas such as ion beam physics, atomic and molecular physics, nuclear physics, and laser technology is preferred.
Description
The selected candidate will work on the development and characterization of efficient negative ion sources for radioactive species primarily at CERN, participating in innovative scientific research. Tasks include offline laboratory work, online experiments, and methodology development for negative ions, along with additional training in the laser spectroscopy research group at the University of Gothenburg.
