Description
This project aims to quantify the carbon cost of arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in different hosts and conditions. The research will investigate the molecular mechanisms that enable plants to regulate carbon transfer to mycorrhizal fungi. The successful candidate will engage in methods such as carbon tracing, single-cell transcriptomics, and targeted mutagenesis in model crop rice to understand the cost-benefit balance of this symbiosis more comprehensively.
