Eligibility/Qualification

  • Relevant Master’s degree in Management and Economics, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic background with an average grade of B or better on NTNU’s grading scale.
  • Good written and oral English skills.
  • Ability to obtain NATO security clearance.
  • Admission to the faculty’s Doctoral Programme.

Preferred Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge of digital tools.
  • Experience in case and qualitative research studies.
  • Industrial work experience in design/new product development.
  • International work experience.
  • Scandinavian language skills.

Description

The PhD project will research how the integration of AI-based digital systems affects organizational dialogue, participation, and authority structures in complex innovation systems. Candidates will engage with industry partners to explore AI-supported decision-making and transdisciplinary leadership within product development. Emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as curiosity, motivation, and the ability to work independently.
