Eligibility/Qualification

  • Degree: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Skills:
  • Strong management and communication abilities.
  • Innovative mindset, particularly in asphalt binder research.
  • Knowledge of chemical and mechanical characterization of asphalt binders.
  • Familiarity with production process optimization considering scalability and material availability.
  • Understanding of asphalt mechanical performance and pavement design concepts is advantageous.
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills; knowledge of German is a plus.

Job Description

The selected candidate will:

  • Work on projects related to sustainable asphalt pavements.
  • Focus on areas such as binder aging reduction, development of alternative binders, bitumen emulsions, and binder recycling.
  • Manage research projects and adhere to project plans.
  • Collaborate with research partners and engage stakeholders.
  • Report to project funding agencies and contribute to international forums.
  • Have the opportunity to apply for new research grants and work in a goal-oriented team environment with high independence.
