Eligibility/QualificationPhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields from a top university. Strong research track record in micro robots, soft robotics, or fiber-based robots is preferred. Experience in robot design and prototyping is highly desirable.

Job Description

  • Develop self-sensing methods using existing light actuators, where the transducer serves both for actuation and sensing, utilizing onboard optoelectronics for feedback control.
  • Design and microfabricate a soft optical fiber distributed with multimodal transducers allowing for individual addressability through light multiplexing.
  • Demonstrate a single artificial neuromuscular fiber for advanced robotic functions achieved through distributed and multimodal actuators and sensors.
  • Create grouped neuromuscular bundles with high functional density and investigate emergent coordinated bundle behavior for complex and adaptive movements.
  • Supervise master/bachelor students and serve as a teaching assistant for the robotic materials class.

How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit the following documents as a single PDF:

  • A cover letter
  • CV
  • Publication list highlighting representative works
  • Contact details of two referees
  • Optional: Transcripts of academic records

Applications must be submitted through the official application portal. Applications sent via email may not be considered.
