Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or near completion) in biomechanics, movement sciences, sports sciences, biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics and tendon research.
  • Experience in research methodology and quantitative data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills in English.

Preferred Experience:

  • Ultrasound imaging
  • Biomechanics experimentation
  • Tendon biology or histology analysis
  • Laboratory techniques related to tissue characterization
  • Signal or image processing
  • Programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
  • Statistics and data analysis

Job Description

The PhD candidate will:

  • Conduct research on the mechanical specialization of tendons.
  • Utilize in vivo ultrasound imaging, ex vivo biological experimentation, and advanced tendon analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.
  • Gain training in advanced experimental and analytical methods, and have opportunities to present research at international conferences and publish in leading journals.
