Eligibility/Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physics with a focus on theoretical Soft-Matter and Biological Physics or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in statistical mechanics and computational modeling of soft matter.
  • Experience with Coarse-Grained Molecular Dynamics simulations (e.g., LAMMPS/GROMACS) and data visualization in OVITO.
  • Proficiency in numerical solutions of ordinary, partial, stochastic, and delay differential equations using C/C++/FORTRAN/Python/MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with symbolic computation in MATHEMATICA.
  • Understanding of continuum mechanics (e.g., elasticity and fluid mechanics).
  • Knowledge of statistical field theory techniques including mean-field and self-consistent field theories.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the research group of Prof. Buddhapriya (Buddho) Chakrabarti within the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Biomanufacturing Cluster at Kansas State University. The role involves engaging in advanced research in statistical mechanics and contributing to the ongoing research projects related to soft matter and biological systems.
