Eligibility/Qualification

  • Hold or expect to achieve at least a 2:1 honors degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (human genetics or molecular biology).
  • Additional qualifications such as an MRes are advantageous.
  • Open to home and international applicants; international candidates must cover the difference between home and international fees.
  • English Language Requirement: IELTS 6.5 overall, with no sub-skill below 5.5.

Job Description

The focus of the research will be on:

  • Deep phenotyping of urine-derived renal epithelial cells (URECs) from NPHP patients.
  • Evaluating the response to novel nonsense read-through compounds.
  • Characterizing primary ciliary phenotypes in URECs with nonsense mutations.
  • Utilizing a Cep290 animal model for in vivo studies.
