Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants must possess:

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in:
    • Gene regulation
    • Chromatin biology
    • Epigenetics
    • Non-coding RNA research
  • Experience performing and analyzing genomic experiments, including:
    • RNA-seq
    • ChIP-seq
    • CUT&RUN
  • At least one first-author peer-reviewed research publication.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams.

Job Description

The selected Postdoctoral Fellow will:

  • Investigate molecular mechanisms governing gene regulation through RNA-containing chromatin.
  • Conduct research using neurodifferentiation and cancer model systems.
  • Design, perform, and interpret genomic and epigenomic experiments.
  • Analyze high-throughput sequencing datasets, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and CUT&RUN.
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, scientific publications, and grant-related activities.
  • Collaborate with researchers within the Penn Epigenetics Institute and broader scientific community.
  • Develop innovative research directions aligned with the laboratory’s mission and long-term objectives.
