Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Anthropology, Primatology, Zoology, Anatomy, Biomechanics, or related field
- Demonstrated experience with quantitative methods
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS) and coding languages (especially Python)
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in primate anatomy and/or bone biology
Job Description:
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the collection of behavioral data on Cayo Santiago
- Working with existing microCT scans of rhesus macaque long bones
- Quantifying whole epiphysis trabecular bone microarchitecture using established coding pipelines
- Adapting methods to characterize cortical bone morphology
- Designing statistical models to evaluate the impact of life history factors on skeletal development
- Contributing to grant applications and peer-reviewed manuscripts
- Presenting research findings at conferences and institutional meetings
- Training junior lab members
