Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD in a relevant biological discipline or nearing completion.
- Strong track record in mitochondrial biology, cell biology, membrane biology, bioenergetics, or related areas.
- Experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, mitochondrial functional assays, single-cell technologies, or computational analysis is highly advantageous.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will engage in an ambitious program funded by the ARIA Precision Mitochondria initiative. Responsibilities include:
- Developing novel technologies for genetic material delivery into mitochondria.
- Evaluating mitochondrial membrane integrity, dynamics, and function.
- Utilizing methodologies such as super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and functional assays of oxidative phosphorylation.
- Assessing mitochondrial DNA replication and transcription, and contributing to validation studies in organoid and mouse models.
- Collaborating closely with industrial partners for the translation of discoveries into therapeutic applications.
