Research Area

The research program covers a broad spectrum of fundamental and applied heterogeneous catalysis, including:

  • Catalysis: Heterogeneous, thermal, nanomaterial, single-atom, and cluster catalysis.
  • Environmental Protection: NOx reduction, VOC removal, HC/CO oxidation, and indoor air purification.
  • Sustainability: Greenhouse gas (CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs) reduction/utilization and clean energy source conversion (alkane dehydrogenation, H2 production).

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Required: A PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Technical Background: Strong experience in heterogeneous gas-solid interface catalysis.
  • Preferred: Expertise in catalyst synthesis, catalytic activity testing, and characterization techniques (TEM, SEM, in situ DRIFTS, Raman, XPS, XAS, etc.).
  • Communication: Strong writing ability and experience mentoring students.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Scholar will conduct research within Dr. Fudong Liu’s group. The role involves designing and executing experiments related to gas-solid interface catalysis, performing catalytic conversion tests, and utilizing advanced instrumentation (Mass Spec, FTIR, GC/MS). The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
