Research Area
The research focuses on the pathogenesis and treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Using molecular and genetic techniques in transgenic murine models, MPN patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell lines, and primary patient samples, the lab studies:
- The hematopoietic microenvironment niche.
- Clonal competition.
- Cardiovascular pathology in MPNs.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biology, Medicine, or a closely related field, in hand by the start of the appointment.
- Research Output: At least one first-author original publication in a highly regarded peer-reviewed journal in the field of cancer and/or cardiovascular research.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Laboratory research experience with hematopoietic stem cell biology, cardiovascular diseases, and immunology.
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Associate will support basic science and pre-clinical research. The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific and technical skills, critical thinking ability, and a thoughtful approach to troubleshooting.
Specific Duties Include:
- Planning experiments and technical requirements, and preparing/testing specimens.
- Analyzing data and presenting results at scientific meetings.
- Preparing manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- Executing administrative aspects of the study plan.
