Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Recently completed or near-completion of a Master’s degree in physical chemistry, chemical physics, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Background in spectroscopy, photochemistry, or excited-state dynamics.
- Experience: Familiarity with time-resolved spectroscopic techniques and scientific data processing.
- Programming: Basic skills in Python or MATLAB.
- Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Job Description
As a PhD candidate, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Investigating excited-state processes using ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR), time-resolved luminescence (TCSPC, streak camera), and steady-state optical spectroscopy.
- Analyzing research data and presenting findings in writing, group meetings, and scientific conferences.
- Assisting in teaching undergraduate and master’s students.
- Working collaboratively within the Molecular Photonics team under the supervision of Dr. Tomáš Šolomek and Prof. Wybren Jan Buma.
