Summary

This PhD position is a cross-disciplinary role jointly enrolled at DTU and Novo Nordisk. The project aims to address limitations in current Process Analytical Technology (PAT) by integrating first-principles chemistry and physics with advanced data science to create efficient, robust, and generalizable chemometric models for Raman spectroscopy.

Project Scope & Role

The research focuses on developing methodologies for real-time process monitoring and quality control in drug product manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting applied research on Raman spectroscopy, chemometrics, and data-driven modeling.
  • Developing and validating new methodologies for creating augmented process data through simulations.
  • Working with both experimental and simulated data from real-world pharmaceutical production environments.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess a strong interest in the intersection of engineering, chemistry, and data science:

  • Education: M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, applied mathematics, data science, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of spectroscopy, chemometrics, statistics, or machine learning.
  • Experience: Laboratory experience and a strong interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing/process analytics.
  • Competencies: Strong analytical skills, ability to manage complex data sets, and proficiency in English.
