Research Area

Investigating the mechanisms of dendritic cell function in skin homeostasis, tissue immunity, and anti-tumor responses

  • Core Focus: Dendritic cell function in skin homeostasis and anti-tumor immunity.   
  • Methodologies: Immunology, mouse genetics, tumor models, single-cell analysis, spatial biology, and human tissue studies.   

Eligibility/Qualification

Required:

  • PhD in a related field.   
  • Experience independently performing immunological techniques, including multicolor flow cytometry and immune cell phenotyping.   
  • Applied expertise in murine models and dendritic cell immunoassays.   
  • Skills in project management, immunology, cancer biology, and flow cytometry.   

Preferred:

  • PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, or Molecular Biology.   
  • Experience independently setting up and optimizing dendritic cell vaccination protocols.   
  • Experience independently executing human dendritic cell differentiation.   
  • Proficiency in advanced microscopy, immunofluorescence staining, and imaging analysis.   

Job Description

As a scientific leader on assigned projects, the Postdoctoral Scholar will:

  • Independently design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments.   
  • Collaborate with researchers across OHSU and the Knight Cancer Institute.   
  • Present findings at laboratory meetings, institutional seminars, and conferences.   
  • Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.   
  • Contribute to fellowship applications and funding opportunities.   
  • Mentor graduate students, research assistants, and undergraduate trainees.   
  • Stay current with scientific literature and maintain accurate research records.
