Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should possess:

  • PhD (or equivalent foreign doctoral degree) in:

    • Machine Learning
    • Data Privacy
    • Or another closely related discipline.
  • Doctoral degree should normally have been obtained within the last three years (exceptions apply for eligible career breaks).
  • Demonstrated research experience in:
    • Data Privacy
    • Privacy-Preserving Algorithms
    • Machine Learning
    • AI Systems
  • Strong publication record is highly desirable.
  • Publications in top-tier venues such as:
    • NeurIPS
    • ICML
    • IEEE S&P
    • PETS
    • ESORICS
    • or equivalent conferences are considered highly advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Scientific, analytical, and result-oriented research mindset.

Job Description

The successful postdoctoral researcher will join the Privacy-aware Transparency Decisions Research Group, led by Prof. Vicenç Torra, and contribute to advanced research on privacy-aware machine learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop privacy-preserving machine learning algorithms.
  • Design AI models that protect sensitive data.
  • Research differential privacy, integral privacy, and k-anonymity.
  • Develop privacy-aware models for temporal and high-dimensional datasets.
  • Work with synthetic data generation and privacy evaluation.
  • Conduct research in federated learning and decentralized AI.
  • Build scalable privacy-preserving machine learning systems.
  • Publish research findings in leading international conferences and journals.
  • Collaborate with national and international research groups.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary AI research funded by WASP.
