Eligibility & Qualifications
Academic & Technical Profile:
- A 2-year Master’s degree (equivalent to 120 ECTS points) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related field. (Candidates may apply before graduating, but must have completed the degree before starting.)
- Solid background in laboratory work, physical-chemical analysis, and thermodynamic systems.
- Strong experimental and data analysis skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Willingness and motivation to travel and undertake international research stays.
MSCA Mobility Rule:
- Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Denmark for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the start of employment at DTU.
Scholarship Description
The selected PhD candidate will join a 25-member CCUS research team at DTU working alongside international industrial and academic partners.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conducting laboratory and pilot-scale experiments on chemical $\text{CO}_2$ capture.
- Performing physical-chemical characterization of solvents, gas streams, and associated impurities.
- Designing and carrying out corrosion experiments to evaluate transport material integrity.
- Analyzing large-scale data from DTU pilot facilities.
- Participating in collaborative secondments across partner institutions in the UK and Norway.
