Job Description & Project Scope
The selected candidate will contribute to the project “Deciphering stress regulatory mechanisms in plants” (Project Code: IISERT). The role involves systems-level computational analysis of gene and chromatin regulatory networks, plant biological assays, and molecular biology experiments. The position is purely temporary and subject to satisfactory performance reviews conducted every six months.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in any area of Life Sciences.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are currently awaiting the award of their degree are also eligible to apply.
- Proven track record of high-quality research conducted during or after the Ph.D. program.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in systems-level computational analysis to understand gene/chromatin regulatory networks.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R programming.
- Hands-on experience in working with plant systems and executing molecular biology experiments.
Fellowship & Emoluments
- Ph.D. Degree Holders: Rs. 58,000/- per month + 10% HRA (upon submitting the official Ph.D. Certificate).
- Thesis Submitted Candidates: Rs. 42,000/- per month + 10% HRA (must produce a letter from a competent authority stating the thesis is submitted and viva/defense is pending).
- A nominal research grant is available under the program.
