Eligibility & Qualification
Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in finite element methods (FEM), plasticity theory, crystal plasticity, and solid mechanics.
- Prior experience with finite element modeling and plasticity.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Hands-on experience with finite element software suites such as Abaqus, MOOSE, or ANSYS.
Note: A 5% relaxation of marks may be granted to SC/ST candidates. In the case of selected retired/superannuated government employees, salary will be fixed as per prevailing IRD norms.
Job Description
The selected Research Associate will work on the research project titled “Studying corrosion fatigue cracking in metals using computational modelling and experiments” funded by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Responsibilities include conducting advanced computational simulations, material modeling, analysis of corrosion-fatigue interactions in metallic systems, and assisting in relevant experimental validations.
