Research Area & Focus

The position is co-terminus with a DRDO-sponsored research project focusing on advanced materials, specifically the synthesis, characterization, and hydrogen sorption behaviors of metal hydride-based composites as well as energetic metal-organic frameworks (E-MOFs).

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out research in synthesis, characterization, and H2 sorption studies of metal hydride-based composites and energetic MOFs.
  • Conducting experimental work on MAX phase synthesis and structural characterization.
  • Handling and operating PCT (Pressure-Composition-Temperature) apparatus for hydrogen sorption measurements.
  • Synthesizing and characterizing energetic Metal–Organic Frameworks (E-MOFs) and porous materials.
  • Performing gas adsorption measurements, evaluating adsorption kinetics, and writing scientific reports and publications.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Science or Engineering, OR Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 (seven) years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) in industrial/academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations and scientific activities/services.
  • Specialized Expertise: Must possess relevant experience in at least one of the following fields supported by peer-reviewed international journal publications:
    • MAX phase synthesis and characterization.
    • Metal hydride synthesis and hydrogen sorption studies with hands-on experience handling a PCT apparatus.
    • Energetic Metal–Organic Framework (E-MOF) synthesis and characterization.

Note: Candidates who do not have relevant experience and publications in any of the above-mentioned specialized fields are requested not to apply.
