Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Completion of a doctoral degree within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
- Cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
Desired Skills
- Experience in additive manufacturing (required).
- Additional expertise in mechanical testing and materials characterization (strong advantage).
Job Description
Reporting to Dr. Dev Chidambaram, Nevada Regents Researcher and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, the Postdoctoral Scholar will contribute to cutting-edge projects in additive manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting high-impact research.
- Publishing findings in leading journals.
- Presenting research at conferences.
- Collaborating with faculty and students.
- Mentoring students.
- Contributing to proposal development to support a strong and externally funded research program.
