Eligibility/Qualification
Must-have:
- A PhD degree or equivalent in virology, structural biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Highly advantageous (but not strictly required):
- Expertise in cryo-EM, cryo-ET, or X-ray crystallography.
- Experience with tissue culture work or genetic modification of bacteria and phages.
- Programming skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description
The successful candidate will join the Plevka Lab, a team of structural virologists dedicated to understanding virus replication cycles. The role involves conducting research projects focused on determining the structures and infection mechanisms of various viruses and bacteriophages. The lab has access to advanced cryo-EM facilities and is supported by significant third-party funding, including an ERC Consolidator grant. The position requires a creative, independent, and motivated individual with proven research experience relevant to structural virology or structural biology.
