The research focuses on a broad range of topics including RNA protein interactions, RNA for ATP binding and ATP hydrolysis, RNA nanotechnology, RNA structure and function, TIRF imaging, optical tweezers, RNA motility, RNA dynamics, RNA therapeutics, nucleic acid chemistry, cancer mRNA-vaccines, RNA delivery, protein regulation by noncoding RNA, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, and protein/RNA structural computation. The scholar will specifically apply modern technologies for chemical modification of RNA nanoparticles or mRNA for in vivo imaging and delivery for disease treatment and cancer prevention.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: Ph.D. in Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bio-computation, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational capacity, interpersonal teamwork skills, and high motivation are essential.
  • Preferred Experience: Previous experience in optics or imaging related to RNA or protein is preferred.

Job Description

The Post Doctoral Scholar will join the interdisciplinary lab of Dr. Peixuan Guo, a leader in RNA nanotechnology. The primary responsibilities include applying modern technologies to chemically modify RNA nanoparticles or mRNA for in vivo imaging and to deliver RNA in vivo for disease treatment and cancer prevention. This role is integral to the lab’s mission of training and developing future scientific leaders and workforce to translate innovative research into practical applications and therapeutics. The position is a Term (Fixed Term) appointment, scheduled for 40 hours per week on a First Shift basis.
