Job Description

As a Principal Investigator at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen, you will:

  • Lead independent research with full academic freedom.
  • Benefit from globally competitive packages, substantial research budgets covering personnel, equipment, and operating costs.
  • Have no teaching and minimal service obligations.
  • Potentially be appointed as a Fellow or Scholar of the ELLIS Society.
  • Have the possibility of co-appointment as an Independent Research Group Leader with the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS), including additional research budget. A tenure-track option at MPI-IS exists.
  • For outstanding senior candidates, co-appointment as a professor at the University of Tübingen is possible (requires a separate application to their full professor call).
