Postdoc Scholarship Opportunity: United Arab Emirates University

Postdoc Scholarship Opportunity: A postdoc position is available for a project that aims to develop a decision-aid tool based on mathematical optimization to assist decision-makers in designing an electric vehicle (EV) sharing network. The project focuses on modeling the strategic planning problem while taking into account the operational aspects of EV sharing, as well as developing a stochastic version of the problem to consider parameter uncertainties. The position will be held at the College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University and jointly supervised by Dr. Mouna Kchaou Boujelben and Dr. Céline Gicquel.

Scholarship Description: The postdoc position offers an attractive salary, health insurance, a round-trip ticket to the country of origin, and one month of paid vacation. The main objective of the project is to develop a decision-aid tool that uses mathematical optimization to help decision-makers design an optimal EV sharing network. The project will focus on modeling the strategic planning problem while taking into account operational aspects of EV sharing, such as the spatiotemporal distribution of demand, the rebalancing of cars between stations, and the charging of cars. Additionally, the project will consider parameter uncertainties by developing a stochastic version of the problem. The postdoc position will be based at the College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University and will be jointly supervised by Dr. Mouna Kchaou Boujelben and Dr. Céline Gicquel.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a PhD in operations research, industrial engineering, or a related field, with a solid background in computer science, good programming skills, and a particular interest in operations research.

Required Documents: Interested candidates must submit their CV, cover letter, and any additional supporting materials, such as recommendation letters and published journal or conference articles, to Dr. Mouna Kchaou-Boujelben and Dr. Céline Gicquel.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application materials by email to Dr. Mouna Kchaou-Boujelben (mouna.boujelben@uaeu.ac.ae) and Dr. Céline Gicquel (celine.gicquel@lisn.upsaclay.fr).
