Eligibility/Qualification: The successful candidate should hold or be close to completion of a relevant PhD, have relevant experience, possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within the established research programme, and have sufficient knowledge of methodology and analysis of data, interviews and/or observations. They should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate access to schools, build relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to the writing of funding bids.
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will work with the Absolute Chemistry Research Group, which has researched sustainable outreach science activities for socio-economically disadvantaged children in the Liverpool City Region since 2014. The research work targets schools with large numbers of pupils in deprivation and seeks to reduce barriers for participation for such pupils, reducing inequality. The postdoctoral researcher will develop outreach research by analyzing data using structural equation modelling and qualitative thematic analysis programmes. The role also involves contributing to publications in high impact journals, developing funding applications, and developing their own research profile.
