Post-Doctoral Position at Institut Pasteur Paris, France

CEMEF Postdoctoral Fellowship in France- Apply by 31 October 2020

Post-Doctoral Position at Institut Pasteur, Paris, is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Stress Adaptation and Metabolism (SAMe) Unit, directed by Prof. F. Barras. The position is available from October 1, 2023, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to research on the role of tRNA modification (thiolation) as a stress sensing device connecting metabolism and translation. The project focuses on understanding how sulfur availability, iron limitation, and oxidative stress influence the sensing process, with implications for various diseases. The research will be conducted using Escherichia coli as a model organism, employing techniques such as bacterial genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, and imaging analyses.

Designation: Post-Doctoral Fellow

Research Area: Stress Adaptation and Metabolism (SAMe)

Location: Institut Pasteur, Paris

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in bacterial genetics and molecular techniques
  • Experience with transcriptomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, and imaging analyses
  • Knowledge of biochemistry and redox biology (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Job Description:
