About- Bhattadev University, Bajali, is the realization of a long-cherished dream of the people of greater Bajali Sub-Division that came into being on the 24th of June 2019 after the first Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Birinchi Kr. Das assumed office. The University was upgraded from the erstwhile Bajali College which had a glorious history of more than six decades and was widely recognized as one of the prominent educational institutions of the state of Assam. The University was established by the Bhattadev University Act, 2017 to which the Governor of Assam gave his assent on 16 October 2017. It is named after an illustrious son of Assam Baikunthanath Bhagavat Bhattacharya popularly known as Bhattadev, who is acknowledged as the father of Assamese prose. Bhattadev’s erudition in Sanskrit grammar and literature, and his command over the Shrimadbhagavata Purana earned him the title of Bhagavat Bhattacharya.

Eligibility/Qualification–

A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar recognized test (like SLET/SET). Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may, are exempted from NET/SLET/SET etc. provided that the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET etc.

Application Fees & Last date: Candidates will be required to pay a Non-refundable amount of Rs.1500/- (In Case SC/ST Rs.1000/-) by Demand draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, Bhattadev University” payable at State Bank of India, Pathsala Branch (IFSC: SBIN0002099). Two copies of the completed application in prescribed form along with necessary enclosures must reach the Office of “The Registrar, Bhattadev University, Bajali, Pathsala781325” latest by 31/07/2023.
The name of the Post & Department must be written on the envelope of the application.
In all cases two copies of the application with all testimonials (self-attested) need to be submitted.
