FRIAS Early Career Fellowship: Join the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) as an Early Career Fellow for the Academic Year 2024/25. FRIAS is offering individual fellowships for researchers with a completed PhD and up to eight years of post-doctoral experience. Location: Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS), University of Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed PhD plus a maximum of eight years of post-doctoral experience
- Six months’ research experience after PhD in a different country from the first academic degree OR received a Master/PhD/tenure in a different country from the first academic degree
- Strong academic record and innovative research project proposal
Job Description:
As an Early Career Fellow at FRIAS, you will:
- Conduct your own challenging and innovative research project
- Foster cross-disciplinary communication by being fully present at FRIAS
- Contribute to the academic excellence of both the institute and your research project
- Engage with the University of Freiburg’s research strengths
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Fellowships will be awarded based on:
- Academic excellence of the applicant and project proposal
- Experience and capability to conduct the research project
FELLOWSHIP FUNDING:
- Full-time employment contract with the University of Freiburg for the fellowship duration
- Monthly pre-tax stipend of approximately 4,900 €
- Research cost contribution, budget for individual training, and mobility allowance
- Reimbursement of inbound and outbound travel costs (if applicable)
- Additional family allowance for eligible Fellows with at least one child
