Post-doctoral Position: DNA: The French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (INRAE) is offering a post-doctoral position in the field of DNA methylation editing in intestinal epithelial cells. The selected candidate will work within the “Genetics, Physiology and Farming Systems” joint research unit, focusing on epigenome editing tools to repress target genes for intestinal barrier function in cellular models. This research aims to reduce the need for animal experimentation and advance functional genomics studies.
Designation: Post-doctoral Researcher
Research Area: DNA methylation editing in intestinal epithelial cells
Location: 31326 – Castanet-Tolosan
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Minimum degree required: PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology
- Knowledge in transcriptional regulation, epigenetics, and genome editing
- Experience in subcloning, eukaryotic cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, nucleic acid extractions, and PCR
- Strong scientific writing and oral presentation skills in English
Job Description:
Post-doctoral Position: DNA Methylation Editing in Intestinal Epithelial Cells
As a post-doctoral researcher, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, sub-cloning, and evaluating epigenome editing tools and sharing them with the scientific community.
- Studying the specificity, longevity, and impact on transcription of epi-editions on candidate genomic regions.
- Conducting functional tests of the barrier function of the intestinal epithelium using cell models of the porcine intestinal epithelium (immortalized cell lines).
- Disseminating research results through presentations within national and international networks and scientific articles.
- Contributing to writing a prospective report on epigenome editing in farmed species, covering technical, scientific, ethical, and economic aspects, as part of the European H2020 GEroNIMO project.
This post-doctorate position may be extended to explore epigenome editing on intestinal organoids, investigate functional impacts related to pathogen resistance, or explore the feasibility of oral transfection of the digestive tract in vivo.
How to Apply: Please submit your CV and a motivation letter to Guillaume Devailly at guillaume.devailly@inrae.fr if you are interested in the subject, even if you do not possess all the technical prerequisites.
Last Date for Application: Please apply as soon as possible, as the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.
