PhD Candidate Position in Cancer Epigenetics at Hannover Medical School
The PhD candidate will be involved in the functional characterization of epigenetic alterations related to the growth advantage of pre-malignant stem cell clones, malignant transformation of hematopoietic stem-and-progenitor cells, and the maintenance of myeloid cancers. The research aims to understand basic biological principles underlying these processes and advance targeted epigenetic treatment strategies.
Eligibility: The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Systems Biology, or equivalent. A genuine interest in cancer and stem cell biology, chromatin dynamics, and transcription control is required. Proficiency in molecular and cell biology is expected, and experience in animal work would be ideal. Computational biology experience is preferred. Good team-working capabilities and a strong willingness to contribute to the development of the research project are essential.
