PhD Open Position on Electrocatalysis: The e-MolMat group at the Institute of Materials Science (ICMAB) invites applications for a three-year PhD position as part of the “Towards Efficient Hydrogen Production with New Hybrid Electrocatalysts (HYDROCAT)” project. This collaborative endeavor involves researchers from the University of Barcelona and the Catalan Institute of Nanonoscience and Nanotechnology. The successful candidate will focus on synthesizing redox-active molecules, creating Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs) on electrodes, and investigating their electrocatalytic performance.

PhD Open position on: Electrodes functionalisation with electroactive molecules for electrocatalysis

The project, HYDROCAT, aims to advance hydrogen production through innovative hybrid electrocatalysts. The successful candidate will contribute to this goal by synthesizing redox-active molecules, creating SAMs on electrodes, and investigating their electrocatalytic properties.

Eligibility: Candidates must possess a BSc degree in Chemistry or a related field, along with a minimum 300 ECTS Master’s degree. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of organic synthesis and electrochemistry techniques is highly valued.
