Research Assistant (PhD Candidate): The University of Kassel is seeking applications for a Research Assistant (m/f/d) position in the Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, specifically within the Department of Information Security led by Prof. Dr. J. Pan. The successful candidate will work on cryptography, focusing on provable security, and contribute towards a PhD degree. This is a full-time, fixed-term position with a three-year initial term, extendable for a further two years.

Job Description:

Research Assistant (PhD Candidate) – Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science

  • Conduct research on cryptography towards a PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. J. Pan.
  • Focus on provable security with specific interests in key exchange protocols, digital signatures, and post-quantum cryptography.
  • Provide services in teaching Information Security and Cryptography, including the preparation and realization of tutorials, labs, seminars, and thesis co-supervision.
  • Collaborate with other team members in research and teaching activities.
