Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Open to citizens of any nationality.
  • No age restrictions.
  • Endorsement by a professor at a Swiss higher education institution for supervision.
  • Postdoctoral research must be conducted in a different laboratory from the doctoral and current postdoctoral research.

Job Description: The CYD Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships focus on cross-cutting issues in cyber-defense, with an emphasis on:

  • Protection of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cyber and cyber-physical systems.
  • Information sharing, data fusion, and crowdsourcing.
  • Data science & AI methods for analyzing cyber- and technology-relevant data.
  • Security, privacy, and digital trust technologies.

Funding: Eligible costs include:

  • Salary contribution based on the applicant’s position in the host institution.
  • Research costs (up to CHF 3,000 per year) for specific equipment needed for the project.
  • Conference costs (up to CHF 5,000 per year) for conference attendance.

Selection Process: The selection process involves two stages:

  • Stage 2: Shortlisted applicants submit a full research proposal by 8 April 2024, 17:00 CEST. Final decisions made by a committee representing the CYD Campus and Swiss higher education institutions, announced by end of May 2024.
